Lesson 3 of 5 · about 5 min
Voice, music and video tools
When you finish, you can describe what voice, music and video tools generally do and plan a short project.
Stuck? Ask the AI tutorVoice tools
Text-to-speech tools read your script aloud in many voices and languages. Speech-to-text tools turn spoken words into written transcripts, which helps with notes, captions and accessibility. Some tools can clean noise from a recording.
Features and limits change by product and plan, so check current help pages. Always listen to the full result. Names, numbers and unusual words are often mispronounced.
Music and sound
Some AI tools can create background music from a short description of mood, speed and instruments. Others make sound effects. Quality varies, and the rules about how you may use the results vary by tool and plan, so read the terms before you publish or sell anything.
Weak brief: "Make music." Strong brief: "Calm acoustic guitar, slow tempo, warm and hopeful, no lyrics, one minute, for a community garden video."
Video tools
Video tools can turn a text description or a picture into a short clip, add captions, trim long recordings and cut out silences. Clips are often short and may show odd motion, so plan short scenes and keep them simple.
Start with a storyboard: five scenes, one idea each. Write what is seen, what is heard, and what the words say. Then generate or film scene by scene and assemble in an editor.
A worked example
Hana teaches pottery in Seoul and wants a 40-second promo. She writes a script, uses text-to-speech to test the pacing, films her own hands working clay, and adds soft AI-made background music. She uses an auto-caption tool for subtitles and fixes two wrong words.
Weak plan: ask the AI for a full finished video. Strong plan: use AI for pieces, keep your real footage and check every line.
Practice now
- Write a five-scene storyboard for a 30-second video about something you know. Use a free AI tool to draft the narration.
- Record 20 seconds of your own speech and run it through a speech-to-text tool. Note any errors.
Use any AI assistant you have. Do not paste private, client or patient information into it.
