More than courses

A university you can walk around in

01

Debate a counselor

On every course, an AI counselor takes the other side, asks you questions back, and cites a source for every fact.

Try it on AF-101 →

02

Rooms in your language

Discussion rooms and breakouts on every subject. Write in your language; everyone reads it in theirs.

03

Live lectures

People teach live from all over the world. Watch the stream and chat, translated for every viewer.

04

Courses that keep up

Fast-moving courses are checked against the news. Changes are written up with sources and reviewed by a person.

Not sure? See every program, or ask Gwil, the site's counselor, at the bottom right. Gwil is a language model: it can point you to a course, and it can be wrong.

02

How a course works here

01

A promise

One sentence at the top of every course: what you will be able to do when you finish. If we cannot write that sentence, the course does not open.

02

Chapters with an outcome

Four or five chapters, each with a stated outcome and short lessons you can read in a sitting. Examples come before theory.

03

A practice and a check

Every chapter ends with three to five things to do yourself, with no purchase required, and one question or small deliverable that shows you can.

04

Exams where written

53 chapters also have a scored exam. Your progress saves in this browser; there is no account to create and nothing to pay.

03

What this is, and is not

It is

  • Free. Every course, every lesson, every exam. There is no paid tier and nothing to unlock.
  • Self-paced. Progress saves in your browser. Leave for a year and pick up where you stopped.
  • Written with AI assistance and edited by a person, with the revision date shown. Mistakes get fixed when found; tell us.
  • In 31 languages for menus and guidance. Lesson text is in English for now.

It is not

  • Accredited. No degree, no credit transfer, no claim to either.
  • Issuing certificates yet. When it does, a certificate will be a record of the lessons and exams you completed, not a credential.
  • Updated in real time. Courses are revised by hand; the date at the bottom of each page is the truth.
  • Professional advice. Medical, legal, financial and career material here is for learning.

Pick a door and read the first lesson.

It takes about a minute to see whether a course is written the way you learn.
