Lesson 2 of 4 · about 6 min

Your first AI wins: 5 everyday tasks

When you finish, you can use strong prompts for booking replies, reminders, captions, price menus and aftercare.

Stuck? Ask the AI tutor

Win 1: Booking replies

New clients ask the same things: Do you do my hair type? How long does it take? Weak prompt: "Reply to this client." Strong prompt: "A new client asks if I do box braids and how long they take. I do braids, they take 5 to 7 hours, I have Thursday 10 am and Saturday 9 am. Ask for a photo of the style they want. Warm, short, under 70 words."

Check times, services and your wording on prices. Leave prices out unless you decide to state them. Answer in the client's language if you can. AI can help translate, but read the result carefully or ask a bilingual friend.

Win 2: Reminders and rebooking

Regular reminders keep your chair full. Weak prompt: "Write a reminder." Strong prompt: "Write a 35-word text to a client whose last cut was 5 weeks ago. Friendly, no pressure, offer to send times." Make three versions and save the ones that sound like you for reuse.

Check that the message does not sound like a robot. Use first names only if you have permission to message them. Follow messaging rules about consent in your country, such as not texting people who asked you to stop.

Win 3: Captions and content ideas

Social media takes time. Describe your photo in a line and ask for three captions. Weak: "Caption for hair." Strong: "Photo: short textured crop on a client with curls, shaped with scissors. Write three captions under 30 words, warm and confident, no claims about hair health." Ask for a week of ideas: before and after, a tip, a behind-the-scenes, a client story with permission.

Always ask permission before posting a client's face or hair story. Avoid claims you can't prove, like "repairs damage" or "promised to last". Do not use AI to fake before-and-after photos. Your real work is your selling point.

Win 4: Price menu and service descriptions

List your services with how long they take and what they include. Ask AI to write short descriptions in simple words, and to add a note that final price depends on length and thickness. You write the prices. This saves you hours and cuts the back-and-forth of "what does a gloss include?"

Check each description against how you really work. Remove anything that promises more than you do. If you have a cancellation policy, paste it in and ask AI to rewrite it in a polite, clear way.

Win 5: Aftercare and consultation questions

After a color or treatment, a clear note helps. Paste your own instructions and ask for a short, friendly aftercare message. For a consultation, ask AI for twelve questions to ask a new client, then keep the five you like. This improves your notes and your chat.

Aftercare is your professional advice, so use your own instructions and the product maker's guidance. AI should not invent medical advice. If a client reports a reaction, point them to a doctor if it is serious.

Practice now

  1. Write three booking replies with AI for your most common questions. Edit and save them.
  2. Create a week of captions for photos you already have. Choose two, and edit them to sound like you.
  3. Ask AI to turn your service list into a simple price menu with descriptions.

Use any AI assistant you have. Do not paste private, client or patient information into it.

Check yourself

1. Why leave prices out of the AI prompt unless you list them?

2. What should you do before posting a client's photo?

3. Which claim is risky in a caption?
